Chris Pratt to Lead Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Per Deadline, director James Gunn has finally found his Star-Lord in “Zero Dark Thirty” actor Chris Pratt, who is perhaps better known for his role on “Parks and Recreation.” As Star-Lord, Pratt will serve as the lead in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” due in theaters August 2014.

Pratt beat out a number of actors for this gig, including his “Zero Dark Thirty” costar, Joel Edgerton. We know Pratt can get himself into superhero-shape, and he’s shown the sense of comedic timing needed to succeed in this role. Marvel has a great track record for casting male leads in its films, so don’t be surprised when Pratt turns in a stellar performance next year.

So apparently the likelihood of being cast in a leading role of a marvel Studios film increases quite a bit of your first name is Chris.

I had no idea who this guy was before this news hit, but I just looked up some interviews with him on YouTube and Chris Pratt is absolutely perfect! Ditch the facial hair and make his hair a little lighter (if not full on blond) and you’ve got Peter Quill. I also like that he has a southern accent since Star Lord is essentially a space cowboy.

    So, who’s playing Charlie X?

    It’s not thooooooooooooooose Gaurdians, Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

Who’m I kidding. I’d love some Yondu action. Imagine him and Hawkeye firing off arrows back to back in Avengers 2.

I must admit I had no idea who the Racoon was.
