Han Solo Returns

Never mind the spinoff, as Latino Review reports that Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as Han Solo in “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Ford’s return to “Indiana Jones” did well financially, but did not exactly satisfy fans of that franchise. It will be very interesting to see how successful this next attempt is to recapture former glory.

  • I don’t really have a problem with this. I grew up admiring Han Solo and I have a hard thinking if anyone else who could replace Harrison Ford in that role. I would like to see more adventures from that character.

  • As an Indy fan I didn’t think it was Harrison that really caused the shortfall in expectations. Some of the set pieces went just a little too far for people to say “could happen” along with obvious cgi sequences that didn’t look finished enough to be believed.

The real worry with the old cast coming back is that they’re probably not going to be in amongst all the action like they used to be. I can imagine a lot of ‘too old for this’ type jokes flying around – actually in the script.

Does this mean we’re not getting a Hollywood Homicide sequel? I’d rather see Han after ROTJ with Harrison Ford as opposed to some Han Solo: Origins looking back. Then again, I thought a 4th Indiana Jones would be awesome and I ended up with Kate Blanchett’a Count Chocula accent, atomic fridges, CG prairie dogs, and interdimensional aliens or something.

I have no knowledge of the continuing story after Episode VI, but this dashes my hopes that they’d go in another direction. What’s he going to do, hand the keys to the Falcoln, and say, “Not a scratch, Kid.”?

If he says anything at all, the line I most want to hear Harrison Ford say again is, “Yeah, Well I ain’t nobody, Dork!”
