Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Full Trailer for ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ written by Sean Gerber May 14, 2013 Marvel and ABC have released the first full trailer for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and announced the series will air on Tuesdays at 8:00pm starting this Fall on ABC. The trailer suggests not every member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s favorite clandestine organization is privy to the fact that Agent Coulson survived his bout with Loki in The Avengers, which could make for an interesting subplot on small and big screens alike. Joss Whedon’s involvement can be heard almost immediately in all of the snappy dialogue, but beyond that, this series shows promise in being able to flesh out the live-action Marvel Universe. Having Coulson in charge of a team monitoring and, when needed, confronting super-powered beings could lead to the inclusion of many Marvel characters that might not make the cut for a film. More importantly, the tagline of “Not All Heroes Are Super” is a great way of driving home the point that even “ordinary” people can overcome extraordinary obstacles to save the day. April 4, 2016 Naes A mix between MIB and X-files is not a bad idea. I hope it’s good but I’m still not going to watch it. No offense to the people making it. Movies are special. Animated shows like BTAS and Young Justice are special (Marvel animation… not so special) but live action TV is usually just filler. Who is the intended audience for this? Kids aren’t going to watch it because it’s not as if Iron Man is going to stop by and Agent Coulson is not even a secondary character. Plus you can’t spend $100 million on a 1-hour episode in the same way you can spend $200 million on a 2-hour movie so don’t expect a lot of visual flair. I predict a whole lot of sitting in offices while wearing suits and trading one liners. I wish they would make animated shows to tie into the Marvel movie universe. Those could fill in the gaps between movies. Then again Disney prints money so what do I know? And yes… I have seen Buffy and Firefly. djseeley Makes me wonder who the “superpowered” character we are seeing in the teaser. is or could be. I’m leaning towards ‘Rage’, Stock Whedon did a great job with Avengers, but I’m not a big fan of his. He has a schtick which, IMO, gets old fast. Its basically pretty people getting into fights with super-powered bad guys that goes something like this: Spin kick to the face followed by snarky comment. Return snarky comment from villain just spin-kicked to the face, (after he grins and spits blood from corner of mouth). Look of silent fear from spin kicker. Sudden arrival of magical element to make bad guy vanish, but not before he utters threat to spin-kicker. Rinse, repeat, final spin kick at end of show. See “Charmed” for copy version with hotter chicks-mute button suggested. I expect the Shield show to be a lot like this. Snarky comments and spin kicks, with detached oversight from the undead Coulson. Who is dead, by the way. If Harvey Dent is dead, Coulson is dead.
