Marvel Marvel Slings a Web Series written by Sean Gerber July 11, 2013 Marvel, the one of the fastest growing entertainment brands in the world, is reaching out to geek turned pop culture yet again with its new web series, “Earth’s Mightiest Show,” hosted by G4’s Blair Butler. In an exclusive report on The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel VP of Content and Programming John Cerilli discussed the company’s desire for more original video content and said of the direction of the show, “We’re reaching for the pop culture aficionado, and pop culture really has grown. Comic books, and comic book genres, have really become a huge part of pop culture. It’s a lot more part of a normal part of life. Just look at the movies that come out any given weekend during the summer nowadays. It’s much bigger than it ever has been, and we want to cater to that person. “ As the owner of a site that reaches out to those same aficionados, it’s impossible not to love what Marvel is putting together here. This is a company that knows its fan base very well and constantly invents new ways to build loyalty among them. Marvel takes stacks of cash from its fans, as they should, but they are also extremely innovative in finding ways to give back. “Earth’s Mightiest Show” is just the latest example. The show will feature Blair Butler sitting down with celebrities and creators well known by genre fans. The first episode with Seth Green debuts tomorrow on Marvel.com.
