Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S.H.I.E.L.D. on the Cover of EW written by Sean Gerber August 21, 2013 Famed “Avengers” director and Marvel Studios creative consultant Joss Whedon is now an Entertainment Weekly cover boy. Flanked by “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Chloe Bennett and Clark Gregg, Whedon took part in a 10-page interview discussing his career and the highly anticipated show he’s brining to television screens on next month. In a preview of the article Whedon described the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic (and now televised) Universe. This is basically a TV series of ‘The Zeppo’ [episode of Buffy], which was a very deliberate deconstruction of a Buffy episode in order to star the person who mattered the least. The people who are ignored are the people I’ve been writing as my heroes from day one. There’s a world of superheroes and superstars, they’re celebrities, and that’s a complicated world — particularly complicated for people who don’t have the superpowers, the disenfranchised. Now obviously there’s going to be hijinks and hilarity and sex and gadgets and all the things that made people buy the comics. But that’s what the show really is about to me, and that’s what Clark Gregg embodies: the Everyman. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” premieres September 24 at 8:00pm (7:00pm Central) on ABC. May 8, 2016 Adrian Edmondson Sweet . And no overly photoshopped cover with people looking in random directions 😉 Hope this show does well . Michael Lalaian I need this show, give it to me now. It was stated in a recent article (I don’t remember what outlet) that only characters with “science-based” powers would appear in show, which bummed me out a little. I thought Agents of SHIELD would be a great way to reintroduce some of Marvel’s recently reacquired properties like Blade and Ghost Rider, who probably need to “incubate” for a while before getting a big screen treatment again, along with a wealth of mystical, supernatural and horror-based characters from Marvel’s roster. Maybe season two. Sean Gerber Ghost Rider seems a little too out there for the show, but Blade could definitely be a recurring character that winds up with his own spinoff.
