Enemies Unite In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Trailer

Marvel isn’t the only studio handing at new trailers with tonight’s big game. Sony Pictures has released a new trailer or “sizzle” for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 profiling the early stages in the formation of what will be the Sinister Six in later films.

    Gwen? 3:07 🙁

This is glorious too! Lots of glory for Marvel characters!

Where is the DOFP trailer btw? Spider-Man looks so so sick . Really looking forward to seeing this several times .

I was wondering the same thing. I do expect a new trailer soon but it seems like a wasted opportunity not to put something during the Super Bowl.

Like Sean mentioned a while back, Fox needs to appeal to a wider audience. The Super Bowl averages around 100 million viewers. Hmm …

Not sure why it was not shown , guess 25 covers for a magazine is enough ?! Or maybe Singer has it released this week to take the focus off of SP2 and Cap ( don’t think that will work though ) . Plus how big is Grimlock , man that looked cool 🙂

I’m starting to think Fox is having delusions of grandeur. Spider-Man is guaranteed 700+ mil. Captain America is guaranteed some sort of increase following The Avengers. Fox is hoping that more Wolverine and nostalgia will be enough. Unless their next trailer is more epic than today’s trailers, I think they’re guaranteed to come in third this summer, which is what I expected anyway.

As for Transformers, I was never into them when I was a kid but I’m one of those people that can enjoy the films as mindless fun that are meant to be appreciated on a visual level. I don’t know about you or anything but I certainly don’t walk into the theater expecting some wonderful, deep plot. I walk in to see things blown up. That’s why I tend to skip to the last third of the last film.

I don’t know if Super Bowl commercials are really effective for movies coming out in June and July. Yeah, they’ll get some buzz for the next few days, but movie commercials never seem to rate that well with the general public and there are a lot of things coming up in the months between. I know WB has decided that they’re largely a waste of money.

Yeah it’s hard to say , though the Avengers SB trailer did get me hyped .

Winter Soldier is shaping up to be the first Marvel Studios film since the Hulk to go for a more serious tone and it looks like that will work big time. I can see it getting a “Post Avengers” bump to around 210 or 220 million domestically but I’m not sure if it can make a Thor like leap overseas.I’m calling Winter Soldiers WW take at about 500 million.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 looks fresh and lighter in tone then the first film. The trailer really makes it look like a must see epic. You would think that the FOX network would have taken advantage of its Superbowl coverage to highlight DOFP and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes with crazy trailers but they seemed content to push TV programing like the return of 24
which got me jazzed BTW,but they should have given more love to the movie side of the house.

Did anyone else get an Edward Nigma from Batman Forever vibe regarding Electro?

Also: Seahawks won, where’s footage of Paul running naked through the streets?

    • Adrian Edmondson

lol , although it’s probably best no one saw Paul 😉

I understand superhero movies are shifting back into a more comic bookey realm, but I’m sorry, the look of this film reminds me of a Ronald McDonalds Playhouse.
The Edward Nigma vibe is accurate. This looks like a slightly better version of Batman Forever. The studio looked at the reactions to The Amazing Spider-Man and fans not feeling the Nolan vibe, and now they are over reacting.
With the cast in place, I’ll give it a chance. I guess the one nice thing I can say is with 25 villains rumored to be in this film, there is a very clear focus on Jamie Foxx’s Electro, even though he looks like an evil Smurf who devoured an entire RadioShack.
