Check out the trailer, a quick reaction, and a brand new poster from the film before sharing your thoughts with us in the comments section. The future of mutant-kind may look terrible, but this trailer is an improvement over its predecessor. The stakes are more clearly defined and the ramifications this movie could have on the future of the franchise are starting to take shape. Also, this new look at the film offers a lot more superhero sizzle than the first trailer with numerous flashes of various mutants showing off their remarkable abilities. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is in theaters on May 23, 2014. I love it. Adrian While I’ll admit that this trailer is a vast improvement over the first one, I still feel the way that Sean did a while back. It’s all just … meh, to me. I mean, I’m still going to see it at least once but my expectations aren’t particularly high. I don’t know what it is anymore but Fox just can’t compare to Sony with Spider-Man and the MCU. Their films get me excited. It still feels like there are too many things going on here but we’ll see how that goes. It’s nice to finally see Iceman doing Iceman things. I’m still not sold on the Sentinels in general and the Future Sentinels in particular. Too much of a Destroyer vibe for me. That said, that’s a cool shot of Young Magneto controlling the old Sentinels. Bob Marshall It looks superb, cannot wait Adrian Edmondson Vast improvement over the first trailer , lots of good things happening . Hopefully this will deliver the goods , but it has it’s work cut out for it especially with DC and Marvel churning out some great films ( MOS , Avengers ) Adrian While I disagree about Man of Steel, I do agree with what you’re saying. It’s like Fox is still living in the early ’00s or something. Adrian Edmondson That last part hit the nail on the head , because no actual reboot has been done , the entire franchise seems dated . While FC had a number of good things going for it ( Xavier and Mags , Wolvie cameo ) it’s like the story has never really progressed beyond the intolerance conflict and pointless mutants that have been added just to push the story forward or doing something cool . Society has become much more tolerant of things and people , so it would be nice to see that more instead of the we vs them conflict from the past films . Thanks for the reply Daniel Van Cortlandt I think many would argue that although we have made some great strides forward in tolerance for “people and things”, as a species we still have a LONG way to go. And many people who would like to be more than just “tolerated” by the dominant societal group probably still find X-men easy to relate to on that level. But regardless of how you feel about such topics, social unrest stemming from racism, sexism, and homophobia is pretty much the concept behind the entire X-men franchise. Taking that out of the equation just takes away everything of substance. It’s like giving Batman superpowers or retroactively bringing his parents back to life. stock If I could have seen myself as a balding old man, I would have said the same thing! Geoffrey I LOVE that poster! It’s reminiscent of the work of artist Drew Struzan. 🙂 As for the new trailer here…WOW!!! I’m speechless! Incredible! This could very well be the best X-Men film yet, in my opinion! With a minor exception of X-MEN The Last Stand & a great exception of X-MEN Origins: Wolverine, I very much enjoyed X-MEN, X2: X-MEN UNITED, X-MEN: First Class & The Wolverine. X-MEN: Days Of Future Past definitely has the potential to be the absolute best X-MEN film to date, in my opinion! 🙂 T.J. This trailer got me excited about this film finally. I’ll pay this trailer the ultimate compliment – this looks like what an X-Men film should look like. The comics are jumping from the page to the screen in this trailer.
