The purpose of this kind of advertisement is soley to get maximum eyeballs on the trailer. Frankly, I think Disney could get away with spending nothing on advertising until 2 weeks before the movie opens and open just as big. Casey Alan Jones Agreed Robert. Even the Amish have already made plans to be in the theaters on May 1, 2015 Robert Reineke It’s more about bragging rights at this point than a smart return on investment. I’ll be a bit surprised if it matches the domestic total of the first one simply because that was such a perfect storm. But if it only makes $500 million domestic I won’t view it as a disappointment. Adrian Edmondson Yeah but those who love only DC will point to it possibly doing less than the first one as the audience getting Marvel fatigue or something goofy like that . This is making 2 billion easy . Also enjoyed you on the recent show , glad the gang switched things up every now and then . Robert Reineke Yeah, just like people are getting tired of The Hunger Games, which still may end up being the highest grossing domestic film of 2014, and The Hobbit, which seems on track to make $1 billion worldwide. We’ll see how big The Avengers turns out, but I think it’s a given that it’s going to be mega-successful. It’s probably going to be more front-loaded than the first one. Heck, it may even be pitched more towards the hard core fans. But, frankly, it’s going to make Marvel/Disney ridiculous amounts of money whether it makes $1 billion or $3 billion. Also, I’m glad you enjoyed my participation in the year end show. I was very pleased to join in, particularly since I really enjoyed the year as a whole. Michael Lalaian As much as I love Star Wars, I have to say that Avengers is probably my most anticipated film of 2015. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is kind of my new Star Wars, Kevin Feige my new George Lucas.
