Pixar Open Forum: INSIDE OUT written by Robert Reineke June 18, 2015 Has Pixar gotten their groove back? Initial reviews, and not just from Sean, sure indicate that they have. A few weeks back I noted that blockbusters are seldom built around normal everyday people these days, rather around various chosen ones in exotic settings. INSIDE OUT seems poised to capitalize on that void. And maybe make some adult men weep like 13 year old girls in the process. But, that’s the hype. Our readers can decide if it lives up to the hype. And, if so, what that bodes for Pixar’s future. A return to more original movies? The level of reflection it demands on the inner workings of the human being rivals and quite possibly eclipses that of Inception. Pixar once again gets more humanity out of non-human characters than many filmmakers get out of human actors.
