Batman Ben Affleck Has Written A Batman Script written by Sean Gerber March 30, 2016 William Morris Endeavor’s co-CEOs Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell have told The Hollywood Reporter that Ben Affleck has already written a “cool” script for a new Batman movie. In addition to his upcoming cameo in Suicide Squad (August 5), Affleck is signed for Justice League Part One and Part Two. The solo movie would require an additional round of negotiations including the strong possibility of Affleck directing the film. That Affleck is still negotiating with Warner Bros. on the solo Batman movie may be the reason this news is coming from his agents instead of the studio. Now that most of the people who’ve seen Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice agree that Affleck was great in the role, news that Affleck has already written a script is sure maximize the demand for a Batfleck solo movie to become a reality and soon. This could very well give WME leverage in the negotiations, for how can WB not make the movie at this point? It may not even be an issue, but if it is, Emaneul and Whitesell have just secured the best deal possible for Affleck. For fans, this is great news. Rumors of Affleck writing a script with DC Entertainment Chief Creative Office Geoff Johns have persisted since last summer. Now we know just how far that work has advanced. Hopefully Warner Bros. agrees that Affleck has a cool idea for Batman and moves forward on this sooner rather than later. Curious when they’d be able to make it. I sort of want to see the whole MoS, BvS, JL1+2 arc play out first, but I can’t see WB waiting until after JL2 to release a solo Batfleck movie. I’m guess they’ll try to release a prequel film between JL1+2? I would love to see what this Batman was like before he got so jaded and disillusioned. Azrael Truthfully I wouldn’t be surprised if WB expedited a solo Batman film. Affleck was superb in the role and many quickly took to his depiction, plus Batman is a proven money maker. I’d be extremely surprised if they don’t mak this film sooner rather than later. pud333 Yeah, I think probably 2018 at the earliest. It wouldn’t be surprising if another character’s solo film got bumped in favor of Batfleck. Personally, I’d still prefer to see the other characters in solo films even though I loved Batfleck. But I’m not WB of course. They’d be stupid not to jump on this ASAP. stock Now wait a minute. Weren’t the guys who wrote BvS supposed to have some kind of infallible vision? I’m not an Affleck fan. I think he caught lightning in a bottle and I’ve been underwhelmed with his “great” movies. More so with him than the subjects. I don’t think many stars outside Eastwood really carry the many hats of the movie biz all that well, especially when dealing with very singular characters like Batman. Christopher Reeve took control on Superman IV and look what that begat. We’ll see.
