Doctor Strange Marvel’s DOCTOR STRANGE Trailer Will Change Your Reality written by Sean Gerber April 12, 2016 The studio that’s taken you to new realms and galaxies will now take you to a whole new reality. Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Doctor Strange and it is as mind-blowing as it is mind-bending. Director Scott Derrickson and star Benedict Cumberbatch seem to have unlocked all the secrets of adapting the Sorcerer Supreme, Stephen Strange, from page to screen. Keep an eye out for Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Amadeus Mordo, and Mads Mikkelsen as a still unidentified villain. After the trailer, check out a new poster and new images from the film. I’m hoping that it will be more colorful and psychedelic as the new poster implies. SeanLM It looks different and weird. Thank God. I like how Marvel has the confidence in this project to not feel it necessary to stick to a “Marvel formula.” You can never tell much from the trailer (see Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 for blatantly deceptive trailers), but it seems less about quips and being cute and more about discovering that “There are more things in heaven and earth…than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” Joshua Nathan Strong This trailer makes the movie look like A Christopher Nolan highlight reel, very strong shades of Interstellar, Inception and Batman Begins stock So you’re telling me that a middle-aged white English woman is playing the Ancient One-(typically portrayed as a very old Asian man) and she’s chosen to make the character sound like a middle-aged English woman? Where is Maggie Smith when you need her? Seriously, you’ve already bastardized the character, and now, you don’t even put the effort in to at least soften the blow. Even Brad Pitt changed his voice to sound like an old man in Benjamin Button. Come on, Hollywood!
