Suicide Squad See The Latest Trailer For SUICIDE SQUAD! written by Sean Gerber April 10, 2016 The cast of Suicide Squad just popped up on the MTV Movie Awards to premiere a new trailer from the film. Check it out and then let’s discuss. Get More: 2016 MTV Movie Awards, Latest Movie News, Movie Exclusive: ‘Suicide Squad’ Blitz Trailer – 2016 MTV Movie Awards What we see here is very much in line with what we saw from the previous trailer in January with perhaps a bit more flavor from the first footage we caught a glimpse of in the Comic-Con footage last July. All the characters look interesting and fun, with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn the clear show-stealer. There are plenty of cool new shots featuring the most popular characters scheduled to appear in the film including Batman (Ben Affleck) and The Joker (Jared Leto.) That’s good marketing for a movie that has a little more pressure to succeed after Warner Bros. did not get everything the studio hoped it would from Batman v Superman as a launching point for the DC Extended Universe. Based on this trailer and the one before it, I think Suicide Squad is going to be the much more universal crowd pleaser that the studio is looking for. It’s sure to have its dark moments given that the cast is comprised primarily of villains, but it also has a sense of humor that really works. It promises to be a bit of sick and twisted fun at the movies, which fits with many of the characters involved. I’m very excited about Suicide Squad right now and Warner Bros. should be as well. This needs to be a hit and it looks very much like it will be. April 10, 2015 DrSteveCarr Well, it definitely doesn’t look “too dark” so we’ll see. I hope they didn’t try too hard to “Deadpool it Up” and that it will stand on its own with good story and characters. I have high hopes for the DCU if they can just calm down and figure it out. Thanks, Sean! Oreole Suicide Sqaud will act as the palate cleanser to BvS. DrSteveCarr PS: how bout a Marvel News episode for my morning drive this week? 🙂 Michael Melkonian Somehow this trailer manages to be even better than the last one, and I didn’t think that was possible! After Civil War, this is probably my most anticipated film of the year. But now it really better deliver on the tone it’s setting in these trailers, or I’ll be incredibly disappointed. While I liked BvS, I don’t love it, and this really can’t be another let down. However, even if, or especially, if this movie does very well, I can’t help but think WB will take the wrong message from it. What does it say about the world when murderous lunatics are more crowd pleasing than Superman? Marvel doesn’t seem to have this problem. They took their own big blue boy scout and made him arguably their second most popular character *without* compromising his ideals. Maybe this is me being a goodie-two-shoes, but I do fear the day when the Suicide Squads and the Deadpools of the world become the norm as opposed to fun, guilty pleasure deviation in the genre. etourist What I like about this trailer is that it’s very much on point in the opening scenes with BvS and Batman’s paranoia about Superman in that film – by describing a possible scenario. How the concerns about Superman relate to SS is another matter but great to hear Superman mentioned all the same. I’m hoping this film will do really well, not because BvS wasn’t universally well received but because it’s the most interesting thing DC Entertainment and WB have done in a while… and maybe it’ll give them confidence to hire more writer directors for future DC films rather than lean on Zack Snyder so much. (Not to say I think Zack is an issue but JL will be his third Superhero pic in this universe). I just hope WB will hold back on continually showing new footage in trailers. Don’t want to end up seeing the main plot points in the trailers like they did for BvS. oliver_chang FASTEST RESHOOTS EVER!! Robert Reineke It’s like the statement that all the humor was in the previous trailer wasn’t strictly true! stock Looks good. Kinnaman as Major Riesman, though I’m curious to know how he’s going to kill them all. Sounds like an idle threat, considering. But WTF is the deal in the DCEU re: Superman? What if Superman does such and such? Superman? How about we find a new character to pin all our fears on for once. What if the Atom decided to take a ride on the President’s fingernail right up his nose and started snapping his neurons and destroying his cerebral cortex? Whose gonna stop him? Somebody! Anybody! But cut Supes a break, will ya?
