In some very unsurprising news, THE FLASH received a full season pickup from The CW (courtesy of deadline). When you’re easily your network’s #1 rated show, that goes with the territory.
Another brand new week of superhero television means another brand new review episode of Superhero Movie Talk. Four new episodes aired last week so listen and see if GOTHAM, THE FLASH, MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., or ARROW took home the coveted Episode of the Week prize!
Arguably, last week was one of the biggest ever for superhero movie news. First came news that Marvel was planning to insert Iron Man into CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 to start CIVIL WAR. Then, Warner Bros. unveiled its full DC movie universe lineup through 2020. Now, we finally get to talk about all of this on Superhero Movie Talk, plus DAREDEVIL and DOCTOR STRANGE!
We’re almost at the peak of comic book live action television for this fall as shows are settling into their season and THE WALKING DEAD joins the fray this week.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars have now officially been joined in the arena of shared movie universes by DC Entertainment. Months ago, Warner Bros. booked release dates for several unnamed films based on DC characters. As of yesterday, we know what those films will be and when we can expect to see them thanks to a monumental announcement made by Warner Bros.’ Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara. Come 2016, two of the biggest, most iconic characters in the history of the superhero movie genre will be pitted against one another, and so will Batman and Superman. Variety’s Marc Graser has posted one bombshell of an article, reporting that Robert Downey, Jr. is in talks with Marvel Studios to join Chris Evans in CAPTAIN AMERICA 3. For the first time ever, though, audiences may find it a little difficult to like Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, when he plays the role of antagonist to Captain America in an adaptation of Marvel’s famed CIVIL WAR storyline from the comics. Continue reading
Sure, the concept art was cool, but Marvel has upped the ante with the first official look at Charlie Cox in costume as DAREDEVIL. As we saw in Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada’s artwork earlier today, this costume emphasizes the point of Marvel’s Netflix series starring street-level heroes. It’s not all about the superhero, though, as Marvel also released a photo of Cox in civilian clothes as Matt Murdock.
Marvel has delivered our first glimpse of DAREDEVIL via concept art by Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada. While it doesn’t look all that “super,” this costume fits the “street-level heroes” description that’s been given for DAREDEVIL and Marvel’s other upcoming Netflix series- JESSICA JONES, LUKE CAGE, IRON FIST, and the team up series, THE DEFENDERS.
